Brunch Sitchiation : HOM NYC

In the unending quest for the perfect pancakes...
Because brunching is a sport. To be taken seriously...

Scene: HOM
So I decided to hit HOM in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and get their $12.95 brunch. HOM is one of those homemade food spots. Up front is a nice lil store where knick knacks and jewelry is sold and in the back is like grandma's kitchen dining spot. Nice and quaint. Nice is my new fave word it would seem...

First off the white wine sangria is worth the schlep to Bay Ridge. Just saying'. It is not included in the brunch menu though so I had to pony up extra $9 for this glass and heck I'd do it again. Yummy as it was. Yes for white sangria! I love sweet drinks what can I say.

And then they brought out this wonderful basket of WARM breads. Everything nice and warm and delish! I especially appreciated that they took the trouble to warm up the breads (a croissant, raison bread and slice of strawberry muffin) and they were YUM

Then the main dish, the lovely mixed berry pancakes with sausages. Get a load of this.

Final analysis. I had an overall lovely experience. The sausages were tasty, moist and yummy. Them cakes were generously topped with the berries and such but I wasn't blown away by the taste. Very fluffy texture though but I think they were baked with no butter/oil/fat. There is no such thing as 'healthy pancakes'. Not if they're made from white flour they aint. So I would like some fat and sugar in there. That said I would so go there again to try their other brunch items. I peeped what some people were eating at the surrounding tables and my my my...

Until the next jaunt...
